Installation Guide

These instructions will help you install Atomic Microscope on your Windows computer. The installation process is similar on a Macintosh. Macintosh-specific instructions are coming soon!

To install the software, you need to download either the single-file or multi-file installer. The single installer file is named AtomicMicroscopeInstaller.exe and the multi-file installer files are named AtomicMicroscopeInstallerDisk.exe and AtomicMicroscopeInstallerDisk.002.

If you are using the multi-file installer, start by copying both installer files to a folder on your Desktop.

1) Launch the installer by double-clicking on the AtomicMicroscopeInstaller.exe (or AtomicMicroscopeInstallerDisk.exe) icon. You will see the Welcome screen.

2) Click the Next button to review the License agreement. Please use the scroll-bar and review the whole document.

3) Click the Yes button to accept the license agreement and select the folder where you would like to install the software. The default is to install the software in C:\Program Files\Stark Design\. This is recommended unless you prefer a different location.

4) Click the Next button to start copying files to your hard drive.

5) After the files are copied, please wait while the installer creates icons in your Start Menu. A window that looks like the following will pop up after a few seconds.

6) When the installer is finished, you will see the Finished screen.

7) With a check mark next to "Run Atomic Microscope", click the Close button. This will launch the software for the first time.

Please note: unless you are installing a trial version, you will need a Serial Number to activate your software the first time it is launched. Click Here for activation instructions.

Once the software is installed (and activated if you have a Serial Number), you may launch the software by clicking on the Windows Start button, then selecting Programs, Atomic Microscope, and clicking on the Atomic Microscope icon.
